It is said that laughter is the best medicine, and there is actually science behind this statement!
Laughter is good for your body and soul. It can strengthen your immune system, diminish pain, and help tamp down stress. Laughter decreases stress hormones.
It can lighten your spirit, help you connect to others and make you feel great. Endorphins are released during laughter, and this give you a sense of well-being. Laughing actually relaxes your body and muscles.
The University of California San Diego’s Osher Center for Integrative Medicine has laughter classes for cancer patients. The center says: “Research has shown that laughter can enhance the immune system, assist with pain management and boost our mood.”
On top of this, laughing can help protect your heart, improving blood flow and its functioning.
“Your sense of humor is one of the most powerful tools you have to make certain that your daily mood and emotional state support good health.”~ Paul E. McGhee, Ph.D.
